I was shocked...and a little terrified...when I was first asked to demo/coach a strength training class at DeSel Fit. I didn't think I knew what I was doing or how I would do or if people would even show up!
But I realized that I could demo a class and if it didn't feel right, I didn't have to continue on. Right?!
Oh. My. Gosh.
Can I just tell you how much I love it? How fulfilling it is to be able to help these beautiful women that come every Wednesday night? To see their strength and flexibility and depth of their squats improving?
And the best compliment ever is when one of those ladies says she can feel the difference in how her clothes fit, that her husband AND doctor have complimented her and noticed how she looks, and that she looks forward to Wednesday nights in my class!!
Yup. I'm sentimental and I not only got goose bumps but I teared up.
Those are the very best compliments! It cements that I made the right decision to coach at DeSel Fit. I love the gym and the women who own it. It truly is a family that has fun while they work out!
But let me back up a little. Selina and Desi asked me at one of their events awhile back and I'll admit, it scared me. I've never coached before. I had no idea what to do!!
But I did a little research. Thought about it. A lot. And knew I had to give it a chance.
From the first class, it has been such an amazing experience. This stuff somehow comes completely natural to me (not to toot my own horn or anything). I also have my Crossfit Level 1 so I've been through the training and have worked out basically my whole life.
It is so fulfilling to explain a movement and watch the ladies take in what I'm saying, make the adjustments and see HUGE improvements in their form, the movement and the weight they're able to use.
I'm thankful Selina and Desi saw something in me I didn't see at first. Sometimes it takes others believing in you first before you're able to see it. And sometimes it takes jumping right on in with both feet, even if it terrifies you and you have NO idea where to even start.
Just remember, you miss 100% of the chances you don't take. And yes, I know. Not everything works out the way you'd hope. But how will you know if you don't step out of your comfort zone and try?!
With love and wellness,
