This week has been a busy week. I've been on the go nonstop all week long. From one meeting to the next with the gym and food thrown in there too. Every. Single. Day.
However, it's one that I completely did to myself. Because the only person that has control of my schedule is me!!
Do you know how long it's taken me to learn this lesson?! I mean, seriously.
Nobody, and I truly mean nobody, can monopolize your schedule and your time. Unless *you* let them. You have the power to dictate your schedule and your time.
But far too often, we feel obligated to say yes. Or to accept their first invite or offer because we think we might miss out on something. Or we think it won't interfere with any other part of our schedules.
I know I do this. I work really hard to be in control of my time and my schedule. But as a new business owner and entrepreneur, I feel like I have to take every meeting and at the time they suggest. And I stress myself out. I overtax myself and I end up miserable.
Slowly but surely, I am taking back control. If the time or date doesn't work for me, I let them know I am unavailable and provide other options that I am available. It's definitely still a work in progress but I'm happy I'm getting better at it.
I'm also learning I need to schedule my time and honor it. Not just with other people, but with myself. I need to have set dates and times for the different areas of my business. I kind of try to do it all, every day. Can you guess how that turns out?!
Another area I've been working on is changing the way I look at my schedule. I currently look at my calendar and think, "Oh my gosh! I am so busy! My schedule is insane!" And you know what?! It ends up feeling that way because it's where my energy is focused!
So I'm retraining my brain. I want to start thinking, "I am so blessed to have a full schedule that allows my business to grow and expand and flourish! I am so blessed to meet with these amazing people and be presented with so many opportunities."
Wow. Such a change in perspective! However, this takes work! And yes, retraining your brain! But it is so powerful!
Of course, the first step is recognizing it. So when you start thinking that or saying it to someone, focus on it and reframe whatever it is.
Let me know if you need some help with this. I'd love to help you retrain your brain!
With love and wellness,
