The last thing I wanted to do on Friday afternoon was head to my girl Presh's house for our team retreat. And yes, I know how incredibly terrible that sounds. But hear me out.
I had an insanely long week where literally everything that could go wrong, did. And my Thursday and Friday were spent running from one appointment to the next with no breaks in between. Literally, on Thursday, I think I was home a total of 3 hours between everything. And waking up on Friday to a potential leak in my pool made it even worse. I just wanted to stay home and take care of all the things that had gone wrong...plus, maybe just a little, to wallow in my own self-pity a bit.
But we had planned our team retreat MONTHS in advance and I had made a promise to my team and to Presh that I would be there. So I got everything that needed to be done, done, and I packed up my stuff and headed over.
I can tell you one thing...unequivocally, without a doubt in my mind, as soon as I got here Friday night, I knew this was exactly where I was supposed to be.
Life has been challenging lately, to the say the least, and I haven't allowed myself even a chance to breathe, let alone to let go and have fun. This summer has definitely been insanely different than any others I've had, but that's no reason to forego my life and the things going on!
So step one: I showed up! That's often the hardest step. Getting our butts up and out of the house...or out of our comfort zone. But I can promise it's so much easier after that! So SHOW UP!!
Step two: Let go of any expectations or negative thoughts you have about whatever it is you are doing. We so often go into situations thinking it's going to be terrible or something bad is going to happen or we are going to be miserable. And really, we either set ourselves up to have a miserable time, or we worry about it for no reason because we end up having a great time!
Step three: ENJOY YOURSELF!! Have a good time! Let loose! Know that taking a couple days away from "real life" won't hurt anything. In fact, it will often allow you the opportunity to clear your mind, see things with a new perspective, and head back into things with a renewed outlook.
I am so thankful I got out of my own way, out of my head, and gave myself permission to let loose and have a good time this weekend. This group of women I get to work with, to build my business with, is truly such a blessing in my life. I can't even imagine going through everything I have been without their love and support and guidance. This isn't just an amazing business opportunity...I have such amazing friends and family because of it! People I may have never known otherwise!
So don't forget...the first step is to show up!! Period.
I hope y'all have a beautifully blessed week, and that you show up, even when you don't feel like it! It may just change your life!
With love and wellness,
