We all know this. Comparison is terrible. It's definitely something nobody should do, yet we all fall into this trap every now and again. We compare ourselves to those around us...is she prettier than us? Are his muscles bigger than mine? Is she more successful than me?
This is a terrible game. Terrible.
All it does it end up making us feel bad about ourselves. And for what?! We are all beautiful and unique and special. We are all exactly as we're meant to be.
Instead of comparing ourselves to others, we should celebrate their victories and help support and build them up. We are all here to help one another, and believe me, there's more than enough work, people, friends, etc. for everyone to be supported!!
I have a bad habit, especially as I'm really diving into my business, of looking at other people in their businesses and feeling truly envious of their successes or how successful they appear to be.
Because the truth of the matter is, I have zero knowledge of their success, where they are in their journey, where they started from, or where they're going.
But that shouldn't matter.
What matters is that they are out there on their journey! That they had the courage to start! And regardless of where they are in that journey, I should be proud and celebrate their courage and their success!
For all I know, I could be comparing my beginning to someone else's middle...and that isn't a fair comparison at all.
I know I'm not where I want to be...but I also know that I will be there one day very soon! I'm doing what I love with the man I love and that's the most important thing to me.
So here's to resetting my mindset, focusing on myself and my journey, and doing what I love most.
I'm excited for the journey I'm on, even if it scares me sometimes, even if I get envious, even if I don't know HOW I'm going to get there! I just know that I had the courage to start. And I have the courage to continue on. And I have the courage to see it through!
So for all of you who have taken that first step on your journey, whatever it looks like for you, I send you a HUGE congratulations!! I'm proud of you for knowing what you want and taking the steps, the actions to make it happen!!
Keep putting one foot in front of the other, taking those steps, and finding success wherever it takes you!
Have a beautiful week!
With love and wellness,
We are all guilty of it. We want and we wish and we hope for things to be different...to be better...to have more...to have a bigger house...to be skinnier or more fit...to have more money.
Whatever it is, we tend to wish our lives away, as I call it. I know I have been guilty of it, as well.
I'll be happy when... I'll be able to start when... I can't do it until...
Have you ever found yourself starting a sentence with any of those, or something similar? I know I have.
And you know what it does? It steals your joy...it takes away the pleasure of living in the NOW.
I tell the kids this all the time when they start a sentence with "I wish..." Why waste your time living in the future? Because that's really what you're doing when you make statements like that.
I don't know about you but I want to live in the present moment...in the NOW. I can't change the past and I can't control the future, so there's no need for me to even have those thoughts.
Yes, I get it...it's nice to think about the things you want or will have in the future, but my point is there's no reason to DWELL on it and let it overwhelm you or worse, stop you from making forward progress. By focusing so much on what you want or what will happen when (fill in the blank), you miss out on all the fun and amazing things going on in your life RIGHT NOW.
Here's the thing:
It's your choice to change your thinking. It's your choice to focus on the current situation and not on the future. Really...it's your choice. It's that simple.
So let's work on it this week. Let's focus on positive thinking and making sure we are living in the NOW. Really stop and smell the flowers (or the coffee...YUM!!); really see the colors of the flowers as you're smelling them; really listen as your spouse or significant other is talking to you; really HEAR what they are saying!
We are often so focused on our phones, on the next email or text we're hoping to receive, on the next raise, on our next report card, whatever it is. Lets just focus on enjoying the NOW.
Let me know in the comments how you plan on living in the NOW, starting today!
With love and wellness,
Oh my gosh!! I am so excited to announce the very first Mommy & Me Bunny Boutique at The Bunny Hutch in Virginia Beach!! The Bunny Hutch is a Zoo that isn't a Zoo!! All of their animals are rescues and they are looking for some help in getting their new location in Virginia Beach up and running smoothly.
The cost of admission is only 1 item for donation to The Bunny Hutch. They accept pretty much anything, from cash to gift cards to any new/used household items. Have something in your attic or garage that you haven't used in awhile? Bring it with you! They will find a use for it!
In exchange, meet North America's largest bunny, Jr., and all his animal friends! There's always some new animal rescue there to enjoy!! And I can't forget that The Green Cat, an organic juice bar and market down on the ocean front, will have free food samples. Holy goodness, their food and smoothies are amazing!
We'll have free giveaways from doTERRA essential oils and Thirty-one, and you can't miss Jamberry for some super awesome nails and LuLaRoe for your super soft leggings and crazy dresses and shirts!! Even better, we'll have Pampered Chef there, as well!!
